Digicon was selected by A&P Falmouth to supply, install and commission a bespoke control panel system for the site’s dry dock gates — one of the UK’s largest ship-repair complexes. The new solution had to be reliable, fast to implement, and engineered to withstand the rigours of a marine environment.
The VACON® NXP AC drive was chosen as the core of the control panel due to its proven durability in challenging environments. This, paired with Digicon’s deep expertise, allowed the team to deliver a full drive and motor control system designed specifically for A&P’s operational needs.
Before installation, Digicon carried out a detailed pre-installation survey to fully understand the technical requirements. The control panel was then manufactured in-house and installed on site under the supervision of a senior Digicon engineer.
Working closely with A&P’s own engineering team, Digicon ensured a smooth commissioning process. The new motors and control panel were fully installed within just two days, with the dry dock gates operating successfully from day one.
